Software Developers Need to Upgrade Knowledge to Avoid Being Jobless

The software industry is rolling ahead hard. Software developers don't code manually now, and in 2026 are already with assisted coding by using AI, eg. GitHub Copilot for VS Code, Gemini Code Assist for VS Code.

Soon in a decade from now, developers will use vibe coding confidently, confidence is about minimal possible bugs, okay logic.

Vibe coding means typing is not needed here, and the software industry will rely mainly on KNOWLEDGE. Thus developers need to upgrade knowledge more to do TECHNICAL DESIGN, and of course, knowledge is what used to do SUPERVISING the AI during vibe coding.

Bad reality: The number of jobs in IT sector will reduce, those developers without upgrading knowledge will have to face this job-less future.

Optional knowledge: With knowledge about AI/ML theories, practical AI coding will be a good factor to handle the AI well.
